Welcome to the Monster Monastery Web Site

     Thanks for visiting our site. Agonal Haunts is a home haunt located in Leslie, MI. Every year we entertain the young and old the week of Halloween with a haunted house walk through and lots of Halloween decorations.
     The week before Halloween we are open and allow our visitiors to decide if they want to be full on scared, or to just walk through and look at all the decorations. Our haunt is low gore high startle scaring.
     All ages are welcome, but remember that on Halloween night you dont have the choice to be scared or not some come prepared to get the yell scared out of ya.
     Over the past 10 years we have had several thousand visitors, and have raised several thousand dollars for our charity. So make plans to come and have fun, and enjoy some good family entertainment.

The 2012 Monster Monastery Charity

This year the Pennell's haunted house The Monster Monastery has chosen The Pink Hawk Project as its charity. The Pink Hawk Project is a community charity that provides financial support for those currently undergoing cancer therapy. The Pink Hawk Project provides gas cards, meals, and many other things to help ease the burdern of cancer treatment. Please come and help support a great cause and help as much as you can. We raised over $250.00 to help our local charity, thank you for your support.

Our new Apparel Shop

We have set up a new apparel site with Cafepress. This site has multiple designs to put on various items, including t-shirts, hat, ipod covers, mugs etc... Come check it out and support a good cause.

The Story of Monster Monastery

Listen to my story and heed it's words for they may mean your only means of survival. This is the Monster Monastery a place of great danger and evilness. The Monk Emils lived in this monastery his entire life. Brother Emils mission in life was to travel the world tracking evil, trapping it and destroying it. Unfortunately there is some evil that can't be destroyed, in these cases Brother Emils would capture the evil and transport it back to the Monster Monastery. Brother Emils would then contain the monstrosities in rooms with secret magical spells.
   Brother Emils being 150 years old let his guard down on one of his missions and as he was containing a Specimen it broke free of the magic spell binding it and killed Brother Emils. Brother Emils failed to pass those spells on to a apprentice so the monstrosities he captured escaped there containment and now run free through out the Monastery. With any luck you will make it through the Monastery alive but beware of the one Evil entity that was to strong for Brother Emils that took his life and ultimately caused all of the chaos within.
   With in the monastery you will find such things as Gramsey The Great a Pharaoh who tortured, punished, and killed slaves for entertainment. There is a nursery containing children who have been possessed by demons that could no be exercised by even the most holy. Their is a sinister carnival that traveled the world kidnapping small children and forcing them to do terrible things like murder, stealing, violence of all sorts.
   So from here on you have been notified of what you face entering this building and we will not be held accountable for what befalls you.

The Leslie Dance Team Huge Success

The 2011 Leslie Dance Team who performed at the Monster Monastery raising funds for the team and entertaining the crowds.

Attendance Record Broke in 2011

Agonal Haunts Presentation of The Monster Monastery broke a new attendance record in 2011. We had 1064 visitors to the Pennell's haunted house in Leslie, MI. Our last attendance record set in 2009 of 922 was shattered this year thanks everyone for attending.

The 2011 Monster Monastery

The 2011 Monster Monastery is another success. In 2011 we had news coverage for the first time in 12 years of doing the haunt. We also had The Leslie Dance Team return for another great night of performances. In the 2011 Monster Monastery we had 6 computer controlled pneumatic props that did not break or let me down scaring people. We had a return of almost all of our group of core actors who have devloped their techniques to become great actors.
I cant say THANK YOU enough to everyone that helped this year come off as a great success.

-My Wife Jamie who puts up with this madness and even goes the extra mile to make sure everone has been fed, had breaks, spread the word, and prodded me when I started to doubt myself.
-Manny Pennell my son who had Football, musical practice, and homework and still had time to help scare the crap out of people.
-Nathan Pennington helped with some building and scaring thank you so much for your help.
-Jeff, Chris and Crystal Worrell thanks for you help with the Nursey, keeping things running, and bringing food and thirst quenchers. Chris did a great job at the door letting people in, Jeff helped scare, build and trouble shoot problems through out the week.
-Doug and Pam the owners of Grave Digger who brought it out and let me drive it to entertain the crowds, also helping in scaring the crap out of people.
-Traverse and Jennifer Shuster for the fire wood and press coverage, and Traverse for setting up his sound system for the Dance team.
-Grandma for helping with D'anna.
Austin Layne a great helper with building and rebuilding the haunt, he is a great actor as well. Austin was helping every-night we were open.
Justin Follick Also a great asset with building and rebuilding the haunt. He was here every night as well and was a great actor.
-All of the people who helped scare all week Zack McGee, Justin Folick, , Carson Riehl, Steph Lewis, Jeremy, Terri Lewis, Mel Lewis, Cecil Kingsbury, Dougs Neices and anybody else I forgot .

Donations To Keep us Growing

We have added a donation button seperate from our voulantary donations at the door. In years past we have been able to accomplish our gaols through our own finacing, but in these hard economic times we will be asking for any help. We need your help to keep growing and making things bigger and better for your entertainment. Please help us out, most of the money donated through paypal will goto charity, we will keep a very small amount to invest into our community event at Halloween.
